Battle Pass items are never sold in the Item Shop, so each one is valued at the typical shop price for its type and rarity. Back blings count as 0 because they normally come with an outfit.

Is the Fortnite Battle Pass worth it?

On paper, almost always. A Battle Pass costs less than a single Item Shop outfit, yet it unlocks several outfits plus pickaxes, gliders, emotes, wraps and more. This Battle Pass value calculator puts a number on that: it values every item in a season's pass at what a similar item costs in the Item Shop, and compares it with the pass price.

How the value is worked out

Battle Pass items are never sold in the Item Shop, so they have no price of their own. Instead each item gets the typical Item Shop price for its type and rarity: for outfits that's 800 V-Bucks for Uncommon, 1,200 for Rare, 1,500 for Epic and 2,000 for Legendary. The full list is on the Item Shop prices page. Back blings count as zero because they usually come free with an outfit.

Value for money = Item Shop value of all items ÷ pass price

The real cost is the pass price minus the V-Bucks you earn back. Older passes gave back up to 1,500 V-Bucks, more than they cost. Since 19 March 2026 the Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and gives back 800, so a finished pass pays for the next one.

What the number doesn't tell you

  • You have to unlock it. The value only counts if you play enough to reach the items you want before the season ends.
  • Not every item is one you'd buy. If you only want one outfit, the pass is still cheaper than buying it in the shop, but the rest of the value may not matter to you.
  • Rarity is a bonus. Battle Pass items can't be bought after their season, which is why old pass skins score high on our rarest skins list.

Thinking about Fortnite Crew instead? It includes the Battle Pass every season. Compare the two with the Fortnite Crew calculator, or see every pass by season on the seasons page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Fortnite Battle Pass worth it?
For most players, yes. A Battle Pass usually contains items that would cost tens of thousands of V-Bucks if similar items were sold in the Item Shop, and finishing it gives back about as many V-Bucks as it cost. The catch is time: you have to play enough to unlock the rewards before the season ends.
How much does the Battle Pass cost?
Most Battle Passes cost 950 V-Bucks. Since 19 March 2026 the Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and gives back 800 V-Bucks when you complete it. You can change both numbers in the calculator.
How is a Battle Pass item valued?
Battle Pass items are never sold in the Item Shop, so each one is valued at the typical Item Shop price for its type and rarity, for example 1,500 V-Bucks for an Epic outfit. It shows what the same kind of item would cost, not a resale price.
Do I get my V-Bucks back from the Battle Pass?
Yes, if you level up far enough. Older passes gave back up to 1,500 V-Bucks. Since March 2026 a completed pass gives back the 800 V-Bucks it cost, so it pays for the next one.
